Golden Crust Caribbean Bakery, the Bronx, New York-headquartered fast casual restaurant operator and manufacturer of Jamaican retail food products, has launched its Golden Crust Island Selection range exclusively at more than 1,600 Walmart stores across the USA.
The frozen line debuted with two new Jamaican patty (baked pastry pocket) varieties distributed in 9 oz (254g) twin-packs: Strawberry & Cream Cheese and Vegetable. The latter mentioned offering features a blend of cabbage, corn, green beans, carrots, broccoli, and onions seasoned with herbs and spices like garlic, thyme, and Scotch bonnet peppers.
“We are proud to grow the reach and legacy of Golden Krust’s authentic Caribbean products with the launch of Island Select, a new sub-brand. This builds on the success of our Spicy Beef, Mild Beef and Jerk Chicken patties,” said Steven Clarke, vice president of marketing. “These flaky Jamaican patties are easy to prepare in the microwave, oven or air fryer and now come in space-saving vertical packaging.”
Founded in 1989, Golden Krust has grown from a single family-run bakery into the leading Caribbean fast-casual restaurant brand in the United States. With over 100 franchise-operated and company-owned restaurants in eight states, the company’s Golden Krust’s retail division supplies frozen Jamaican patties and a range of island-style baked goods to over 22,000 retail outlets nationwide, including ShopRite, Publix, Target, Kroger, Winn/Dixie and other chain stores.
