Sint-Katelijne-Waver, Belgium-headquartered Greenyard has announced that Geert Peeters will join the company as chief financial officer in September. As part of the leadership team, he will report directly to Chief Executive Officer Hein Deprez and Chief Operating Officer Carl Peeters.
Geert Peeters will assume the position from Carl Peeters who, besides performing the job of chief operating officer also took on the CFO role early this year. The newly hired executive has extensive experience in finance, including mergers and acquisitions, financing and transformations.
Peeters started as a management consultant at PwC and advised international companies on business processes, reporting and systems. He then worked as a senior manager at PwC, and later at Deloitte, in corporate finance and recovery, supervising acquisitions and reorganizations. In 2005 he started at SUEZ and was promoted to controlling manager and later to Belux finance director. Subsequently in 2012 he became CFO of the Metallo Group.
“I am really looking forward to being able to build a world with more fruits and vegetables in a dynamic, international group such as Greenyard,” said Peeters.
In addition to producing and marketing fresh, frozen and canned vegetable and fruits, Greenyard’s business interests include flowers, plants and growing media.
