Groundbreaking Takes Place for Nichirei Joint Venture in Vietnam

Nichirei Logistics Group (NLG) has announced an additional investment in the Vietnamese joint venture Nichirei TBA Logistics Vietnam LLC (NTBA), making it a consolidated subsidiary.

Prior to the official consolidation, a groundbreaking ceremony was held at the site where NTBA’s new warehouse will be built. The ceremony (pictured below) was attended by representatives from the joint venture partner, Tan Bao An Logistics Joint Stock Company (TBA), Long An Province, and Long Hau Industrial Park.

Situated close to both Hiep Phuoc Port and Ho Chi Minh City, the refrigerated warehouse (an rendering of the facility is seen above) will have storage capacity for approximately 20,000 pallets. It is scheduled to be operational in the second half of 2024.

Headquartered in Tokyo, Nichirei is the largest temperature controlled logistics group in Japan, where it employs 2,921 people. An additional 1,738 are on payrolls overseas. Generating ¥244.2 billion in sales during the fiscal year the that ended on March 31, 2023, the group has 20 companies in Japan and 17 abroad.

The NLG logistics network is centered on transportation, delivery and transfer centers; regional storage facilities comprising refrigerated warehouses; overseas businesses in Europe, China and ASEAN countries; and an engineering service involved in a variety of functions, ranging from planning and design of temperature-controlled logistics facilities to maintenance and management.
