London, England-headquartered Hackney Gelato has created a plant-based sorbetto featuring roasted pecans. The Roasted Pecan & Caramel offering is a creamy sorbetto rippled with salted caramel sauce and a scattering of lightly roasted pecans. It’s sweet, savory, soft and crunchy all at the same time.
Proclaimed as a superfood by health experts, pecans are high in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties, rich in minerals and full of Vitamin A and E. Add to that the fact that they consist of more than 50% of good fats means they help level one’s cholesterol and maintain heart health.
“We gather inspiration from ingredients across the globe. In America, the autumn pecan harvest marks the coming of the holiday season and autumn is all about the pecan. We love their beautiful, contoured structure, crunchy texture and buttery flavor. it pairs perfectly with our home made salted caramel sauce,” said Enrico Pavoncelli, co-founder and master gelatiere.
Hackney’s Gelato’s new treat celebrates the end of summer and the start of a new season, and will be available in September at many independent retailers across Britain for £5.49 for per 460ml tub, as well as at Ocado.com.
