Handy International Inc. has named Rob Lux to the position of vice president in charge of club channel business. The promotion came following a year on the job selling the company’s seafood products to club stores and other retail operators.
“Rob has the key combination of skills for working with the clubs – personality, experience and ability to work closely with R & D to develop new products appropriate for this channel,” said Terry Conway, the company’s chairman and chief executive officer.
Lux, who previously worked for ConAgra Foods and AdvancePierre Foods, is a graduate of Morehouse State and Xavier University.
Headquartered in Salisbury, Maryland, Handy’s line of products ranges from soft-shell crabs and crab meat to crab cakes, crab specialty items, oysters, artisanal fish and value-added seafood-based appetizers..
During the recently held Seafood Expo North America in Boston the company rolled out three new items under its Gastropub Collection of foodservice appetizers: Pitmaster BBQ Shrimp Cakes, Fiery Shrimp Risotto Frito, and Fiesta Chipotle Fish Cakes. The last mentioned product features a combination of flaky Pacific cod and zesty chipotle chili peppers with cumin, coriander, lime, cilantro, black beans and corn.
