Healthy Choice, a brand of Chicago, Illinois, USA-headquartered ConAgra Foods, Inc., has expanded its Healthy Choice Simply Café Steamers line to include four dishes made with USDA-certified organic ingredients.
“We are constantly listening to our customers and strive to provide new options that satisfy their needs,” said Alan Brooks, associate brand manager. “Our new organic varieties provide more options to the 45% of consumers nationwide who are actively trying to include organic foods in their diet.”
Developed by chefs in ConAgra’s test kitchen in Omaha, Nebraska, the innovative recipes, all with 270 calories or less, are a reflection of current food trends. Featured are:
- Three Cheese Tortellini – organic cheese alongside organic spinach and mushroom in a savory marinara sauce
- Unwrapped Burrito Bowl– organic black and pinto beans, fire-roasted corn, red bell peppers and scallions with organic whole grain brown rice in a tomatillo sauce
- Sweet & Spicy Asian-Style Noodle Bowl – Udon noodles, organic edamame and carrots, celery, red bell pepper and scallions in a spicy soy sauce
- Creamy Spinach & Tomato Linguini – pasta with organic spinach and tomatoes
Healthy Choice Simply Café Steamers meals, including the new organic-ingredient options, are prepared to maximize flavor the healthy way, using techniques that enhance food’s natural flavors. The meals feature a special steaming basket that unlocks flavor and freshness and are 100% natural – made with nothing artificial and devoid of GMO ingredients.

The new meals will reach full national distribution this summer. “Pricing is consistent with other Healthy Choice Simply Café Steamers recipes (MSRP $3.29) – so Healthy Choice eaters won’t have to pay premium prices to enjoy eating organic ingredients,” added Brooks.
According to ConAgra Foods, Healthy Choice is the only major brand in its category that can call 100% of its products “healthy,” as approved by the FDA. The brand offers more than 60 varieties in the frozen food aisle, as well as low-sodium canned and microwavable soups. Recipes range from healthy versions of comfort food classics like Beef Pot Roast, to flavor-rich offerings like Cajun Style Chicken & Shrimp.
