The 13th edition of the North Atlantic Seafood Forum (NASF), billed as the “world’s largest seafood business conference” and set for March 6-8 in Bergen, Norway, will feature more than 150 speakers and 16 major seminars addressing issues ranging from sustainable fishing and aquaculture to processing, sales, marketing, government regulation and more. Over 900 seafood executives from 35 countries are expected to attend.
In addition to hearing from seasoned captains of industry and trade association leaders, among them Marine Harvest CEO Alf-Helge Aarskog and Global Aquaculture Alliance President George Chamberlain, the program will host the Young Seafood Leaders’ Summit on March 6.
Kicking off the session will be Bacardi King, category analyst for Grimsby, England-based Saucy Fish Co. In a detailed presentation on the Seachill parent company’s approach to marketing, she will outline the brand’s seven-year history and highlight its recent move into supermarket freezer aisles in the United Kingdom. The campaign was promoted with a creative “Frozen Just got Cooler” blitz, which reached 55 million consumers and introduced a new generation of shoppers to frozen fish.
Having joined Seachill as her first job after university, King developed category insights through understanding the grocery and fish market, as well as zeroing in on wider consumer needs that drive business decisions. She has seen Saucy evolve from an initial paper idea, powered by consumer research, into the international brand it is today.
“Having worked as part of the Saucy Fish team from the beginning, watching the brand grow from strength to strength, I look forward to sharing our marketing success story with global leaders at the conference,” said King.
