India by far continued to be the leading exporter of shrimp to the United States in 2017, according to tallies posted by the US Department of Commerce’s National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) on February 6. Total shipments from 51 countries amounted to 664,119 metric tons, up almost 10% from 603,542 in 2016.
NOAA listed metric tonnage clearing customs, overwhelmingly in frozen form, from suppliers in the Top 20 exporting nations as follows:
