Pennsauken, New Jersey, USA-headquartered J&J Snack Foods Corp. has purchased Hill & Valley, Inc., a Rock Island, Illinois-based producer and marketer of sugar free and no sugar added baked goods ranging from gourmet cookies and muffins to pies, cupcakes, angel food and pound cakes and desserts for diabetic and health-conscious consumers.
Doug Davidson will remain at the helm of the company, which annually sells more than $45 million worth of branded and private label products distributed through supermarket in-store bakeries and other retail grocery outlets.
“This acquisition rounds out our in-store bakery offerings by expanding our capabilities and customer base, and provides us a newly constructed facility that has ample capacity for growth and a nimble production base,” said Jerry Law, J&J’s senior vice president.
J&J Snack Foods Corp. is a versatile supplier of snack food products to the North American market. Its offerings run the gamut from frozen Superpretzel and Bavarian Bakery soft pretzels, to Icee and Slush Puppie frozen beverages, Luigi’s Minute Maid frozen juice bars and ices, Whole Fruit sorbet and frozen fruit bars, Tio Pepe’s, Oreo and California Churros, and other items.
