Joe Maas, co-owner and vice president of operations at Harrison, Ohio-based JTM Food Group, has been named secretary of the North American Meat Institute (NAMI).
Maas previously served as an officer in the North American Meat Association, one of the groups that merged to form NAMI in January of 2015. He is now working alongside Sara Lilygren, treasurer; Brian Coelho, immediate past chairman; Mike Townsley, chairman; and John Vatri, vice chairman.
Maas’ new position will be invaluable to NAMI as JTM continues to expand its reach. The company, which produces fully-cooked meal solutions for foodservice and retail customers, broke ground for construction of a 193,000-square-foot manufacturing plant and distribution center in January.
Family-owned and operated since 1980, the JTM Food Group serves thousands of schools, restaurants, military and government organizations, food distributors and retailers throughout North America. Its extensive product line ranges from Beef Barbacoa and Brewhouse Burgers to Bavarian Pretzel Buns and Sticks, Mexican Wraps and Bowls, Buffalo Chicken Dips, Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich Kits and much more.
