Fruit from the tropics will be a big topic at Anuga, as adding value to healthy-eating fruit products is increasingly a specialty of frozen food producers. Evidence of this trend will be seen in abundance at Koelnmesse fairgrounds in Germany from October 7-11.
One of scores of cool fruit treats that visitors will want to see and sample will be found at Stands B-010 and B-018 in Hall 3.1. That’s where dark chocolate-covered Chok’s Organic Chocobanna from Guayaquil, Ecuador-based Amerifoods will be showcased, along with non-organic dark chocolate and milk chocolate-coated frozen banana offerings.
Rich in fiber and high in potassium, the nutritious products are now being distributed in Chok’s brand retail boxes. Private label co-packing options are available as well.
Delightful Durian
For buyers seeking exotic fruit ingredients from Southeast Asia, Thailand Frozen Durian will be found at 3 Seasons Fruit Industry Co. Ltd Stand H-043c in Hall 11.3. The Bangkok-headquartered company is targeting ice cream and yogurt manufacturers as well as makers of elaborate desserts.
Durian is regarded by many people in Thailand, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia as the “king of fruits.” It can grow as large as 30 centimeters long and 15 centimeters in diameter, and typically weighs one to three kilograms when harvested. The value-added product is distributed husked, sliced and diced in easy-to-use IQF form by the producer.
Avocado Puree
Grinfeld Industrial Initiatives of Rishon Le Zion, Israel, will hold forth at Stand C-024a in Hall 2.1 Front and center will be retail packs of Frozen Avocado Puree made from select avocados (Persea Americana) carefully cultivated in orchards favored by the optimal Mediterranean climate.
The well ripened fruits are washed and inspected before been pureed, sieved twice and blended with other ingredients for standardization purposes, filled and quick frozen in a fully automated process.
Grinfeld Avocado Paste is presented as ideal as a sandwich spread, snack dip or a base for signature dishes.
Sangria Made Easy
For those who want to indulge in a drink with the avocado dip or on any other occasion, Crop’s NV is offering a frozen fruit mix for Sangria made of grapes, mandarin, apple, peach, strawberry, in apple and green melon at Stands B-029 and C-208 in Hall 4.2.
The Ooigem, Belgium-based company will also be promoting fruit and veggie blends for smoothies. Among its mixes is a Green Smoothie recipe that features kale, mango, banana and a touch of lemongrass. Just add liquid, blend for 30 seconds and enjoy the result. Cheers!
