A report from the United Kingdom has it that Kerry Foods is about to extend its Low Low brand of refrigerated products to the frozen food aisle with a new line of eight ready meals ranging from tikka masala with rice chicken and chicken and chorizo paella to chicken biryani. Each offering will contain fewer than 350 calories and will be priced at between £1.50 and £2 per pack.
Kerry Foods, a unit of the Tralee, Ireland-headquartered Kerry Group, apparently aims to target consumers of WeightWatchers frozen products with the rollout. The retail market for healthy-eating frozen ready meals in the UK is worth about £69 million per annum, according to Nielsen.
