Zaandam, the Netherlands-headquartered Ahold Delhaize has announced the creation of Ahold Delhaize USA, to be effective on January 1, 2018. It will be the parent company for all of Ahold Delhaize’s supermarket operations in the United States, including Stop & Shop, Food Lion, Giant, Hannaford, Giant/Martin’s and Peapod, as well as Retail Business Services (RBS), a shared services company providing support to the stores.
The new unit will be led by Kevin Holt, who is currently chief operating officer of Ahold USA. He will continue to contribute as a member of Ahold Delhaize’s management board and executive committee, and will report to Dick Boer, chief executive officer of Ahold Delhaize.
Frans Muller, deputy ceo and chief integration officer of Ahold Delhaize, who serves as acting chief operating officer Delhaize America (ad interim) will focus on the continued integration of Ahold Delhaize.

Holt joined Delhaize Group in 2014 as ceo of Delhaize America and transitioned to coo of Ahold USA in 2017. Prior to joining Ahold Delhaize, he served in executive leadership roles at SuperValu and Meijer.
