Two weeks after introducing a pair of frozen made-from-scratch macaroni and cheese dishes at over 200 Kroger stores throughout the Midwestern United States, Keystone Bar & Grill on December 7 kicked off an “Unlock the Flavors” sweepstakes that will run through January 15. Persons living in Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, or Kentucky can enter online at http://34.gs/keystonesweeps.
The grand prize winner will spend half a day with Executive Chef Ray Recchia in the Keystone Bar & Grill kitchen combining flavor favorites to create a brand new mac & cheese recipe. The new signature dish will be named after the creator as a featured selection on Keystone’s menu. In addition, the winner will stay at the Cincinnati 21C Museum Hotel and receive a $250 4EG gift card to be used at nightlife and dining venues throughout the city.
Everyone who enters the sweepstakes will receive a discount coupon for the new Buffalo Bleu and BBQ & Bacon Mac & Cheese dishes, which replicate the popular restaurant versions.
For $8.99 consumers can now buy a 16-oz serving of Keystone Bar & Grill Mac & Cheese to quickly prepare, serve and eat as an entrée for two, a side dish for four, or to enjoy as mac & cheese bite appetizers for eight. Both flavors are available in the frozen food aisles of Kroger supermarkets.
“Chef Ray has already unlocked some incredible flavors with Buffalo Bleu (which combines dense bleu cheese crumbles with tangy, spicy Buffalo-style sauce) and BBQ & Bacon (featuring a blend of smoky bacon with signature sweet and savory BBQ sauce),” said Keystone Bar & Grill founder Dan Cronican. “Now we are embracing our customers’ own innovation by having our executive chef host the winning foodie to create a new mac & cheese option for our menu.”
A recent online poll of over 10,000 residents of Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky overwhelmingly identified Mac & Cheese as the region’s #1 favorite choice of comfort food. “The uniquely special dish continues to provide a classic feeling of comfort when reimagined in more flavorful, complex forms,” said Cronican.
