Kloosterboer International Forwarding South Africa (Pty) Ltd. (KIFSA) has opened an 11,000-square-meter facility in Pinetown, approximately 20 kilometers from Durban. It has been established to provide customers with a “one-stop shop” of logistics services from the point of production to final destination of goods.
“For example, if citrus fruit is loaded from the packing facility of a farmer in South Africa, approved and then delivered to one of the Kloosterboer facilities in the Netherlands, with the one-stop shop concept this service would be provided by KIFSA at one fixed price,” spelled out a press release issued by the company on June 18.
KIFSA, a subsidiary of the IJmuiden, Holland-headquartered Kloosterboer Group, specializes in the worldwide transportation of frozen fish, french fries, meat, fruit, fruit juices and concentrates, dairy products and other perishables by refrigerated container or reefer ship.
A family-owned comnpany in the business of storing and handling refrigerated goods for almost a century, the Kloosterboer Group operates more than 500,000 tons of cold storage capacity at 16 locations in Europe, North America and Africa.
