Two hamburger buns and several focaccia open faced sandwiches are among the frozen baked goods Lantmännen Unibake Germany will present this year at the Anuga Fair in Cologne, Germany, October 5-9.
The Unibake Champion Bun, which anticipates next year’s Soccer World Championship in Brazil, is a normal bun, but shaped like a soccer ball replete with “stitching.” The discreetly sweet, French-style Unibake Brioche bun, on the other hand, is a novelty, and can be useful for unconventional burger creations. Visitors to Anuga are to be treated to a number of such creations at the Unibake stand.
Hatting Focaccia Spuntinos, four moist Mediterranean-style open faced sandwiches, will be among several of the Verden firm’s exhibits featuring that Italian flat bread. They will be spread with either cream cheese or tomato paste, and then individually topped with salami, broccoli, Caprese (tomato-mozzarella) or Diavolo (salami, onions and hot jalapeno peppers).
Lantmännen has also extended its Pastridor range with a new Vanilla Croissant from an original French recipe.
“As with the whole range of filled croissants, we emphasize the most modern production techniques and quality,” said Director Christian Sommer. The secret of what he called “the crisp lightness of the dough and special smoothness of the filling” is a unique manufacturing process that takes about 12 hours to accomplish.
The Pastridor range also includes Hazelnut-Chocolate, Marzipan and Apricot croissants. Taste-enhancers, conservation additives and artificial aromas are avoided in Lantmännen products.
