Lineage, Inc. has completed the acquisition of Luik Natie, a cold storage and transport service provider based at the Port of Antwerp-Bruges. The deal expands the world’s largest global temperature-controlled warehouse REIT’s footprint in Belgium and enhances its capabilities in the region.
Luik Natie boasts a collection of facilities on a single site spanning over 61,000 square meters, generating approximately of its energy requirements through wind, solar and battery sources. The operation is equipped with advanced freezing and cooling systems as well as container storage space. Additionally, the campus includes a transportation division and offers freight forwarding services.
“The strategic location of Luik Natie at the Port of Antwerp-Bruges, the second largest port in Europe, will help to support our current transport and storage services across Belgium and Europe,” said said Harld Peters, president of Lineage Europe. “This represents a significant step in our ongoing efforts to innovate the global food preservation industry, aiming to maintain the highest quality and safety standards.”
“Lineage’s latest acquisition is a strategic move that expands its presence in Europe and opens up new opportunities for both companies. By joining forces, we can provide customers with better and more efficient logistics solutions,” said Stefaan Verhelst, managing director of Luik Natie.
This is the Novi, Michigan, USA-headquartered company’s first acquisition after its July 25 initial pubic offering (IPO) on the NASDAQ Global Exchange.
