Another week and another acquisition deal in Europe is in the making for Lineage Logistics, On June 15 the Novi, Michigan, USA-headquartered company unveiled its intention to buy the cold storage division of the Esbjerg, Denmark-based Claus Sørensen Group. Last week it announced the pending purchase of the Rotterdam, Netherlands-headquartered Kloosterboer Group, and in May Lineage acquired Frigorificos de Navarra (Frinavarra), a leading operator of refrigerated warehousing facilities in Spain, in addition to a cold storage warehouse from Frioastur located in Gijón, Spain.
Founded in 1926, Claus Sørensen operates nine cold storage warehouses in Denmark that are strategically based in relation to major fishing ports and food production facilities. The total network exceeds 800,000 cubic meters of space, with a freezing capacity of approximately 1,800 tons per day.
“We actively look for opportunities to strengthen our leading facility network and deliver strategic value to our customers by connecting more dots within their supply chains,” said Lineage President and CEO Greg Lehmkuhl. “The acquisition of Claus Sørensen will amplify our reach in the Nordic region and will add a highly capable team to our European organization.”
