Manchester, Connecticut, USA-based Royal Ice Cream Company has expanded a recent recall to include all products manufactured at its facility within expiry that are identified by plant numbers CT121 or CT#121, as they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
The pathogenic bacteria can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
The effected brands with the above plant number, distributed to retail stores in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, New York, Vermont, Louisiana, Florida and Texas, are as follows:
•Batch brand pints, all flavors
•All specialties of Royal Ice Cream distributed in half gallons, pints and cakes formats
•All flavors of Ronny Brook Ice Cream in pints and three-gallon tubs
•All flavors of New Orleans Ice Cream in pints and 2.5-gallon tubs
•Maple Valley Ice Cream in pints
•All pint flavors of Art Ice Cream
•Sweet Scoops Yogurt in pints
•All pint flavors of Gelato Fiasco
•Biggy Iggy’s Ice Cream Sandwiches
•Munson Chip Wich Ice Cream Sandwiches
•All flavors of Giffords Ice Cream Sandwiches
•Chewy Louie Ice Cream Sandwiches
•Snow Wich Ice Cream Sandwiches
•Newport Creamery – Crazy Vanilla, Vanilla & Chocolate , Vanilla & Coffee HG – only

The manufacturer is holding future product and testing before releasing distribution of the products as both the US Food and Drug Administration and Royal Ice Cream continue investigations into what caused the problem.
Consumers who have purchased any of the effected items are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
