Buffalo, New York-headquartered Rosina Food Products has acquired the Mama Lucia frozen meatballs brand from Quaker Maid Meats. Its product line is predominately distributed to supermarkets, military commissaries and other retail channels in the US Northeast, Southeast and Midwest markets.
In announcing the purchase on November 16,. Russell Corigliano, president and chief executive officer of Rosina Food Products, stated: “We are excited about this transaction. The acquisition is consistent with our strategic plan for growth, and the products are consistent with our core capabilities.”
Frank Corigliano, the company’s executive vice president, added: “The Mama Lucia brand and its current distribution are an excellent fit into our family of products, and we anticipate a very smooth transition for all of its customers, many of whom already have a strong sales relationship with Rosina.”
In addition to its namesake, Rosina’s retail brands include Celentano and Italian Village. Products are packed at factories in Cheektowaga, New York, and soon at a new, state of the art protein facility scheduled to open this December in West Seneca, New York.
