MorningStar Farms, the division of the Battle Creek, Michigan, USA-headquartered Kellogg Company that produces frozen vegetarian fare, has introduced two new meat free breakfast items as well as debuted pizza and quinoa burger products.
Veggie Sausage Egg and Cheese and Veggie Scramble with Cheese Breakfast Sandwiches each feature thin English muffins made with whole grain. The first mentioned product contains 41% less fat than a real pork offering, while the latter’s fat content is 70% less than a sandwich with pork. The calorie and protein gram counts per serving are 220/15 and 140/10, respectively.
The new MorningStar Farms Baja Black Bean Pizza consists of black beans, tomatoes, fire-roasted corn, cheese and a spicy Baja chili sauce atop a crust made with whole grain. Containing 43% less fat than a regular cheese pizza, it serves up 11 grams of total fat per 160-gram serving.
The vegan, non-GMO Roasted Garlic and Quinoa Burger offered by MorningStar Farms is made with red quinoa, lentils, carrots, brown rice and bell peppers. Containing 44% less fat than regular ground beef, its total fat content amounts to eight grams per 67-gram serving. The calorie count is 130.
