Mullica Hill Cold Storage has broken ground on a facility expansion at its Pedricktown, New Jersey, USA warehouse. In addition to offering 14,000 more pallet spaces (which will boost the company’s total number of pallet positions to 68,000 upon completion), the 130,000-square-foot addition will offer USDA meat import inspection services and be FDA-approved and US Customs-bonded.
Primus Builders, Inc., a Woodstock, Georgia-based engineering and construction management firm, is designing and building the facility. The warehouse will offer 105’ deep refrigerated loading docks with 15 loading doors, meat tempering services, USDA approved re-pack and re-box capabilities, a high efficiency refrigeration system and LED lights. It is expected to be up and running by July 2014.
The Mullica Hill Group, a family-owned business, is the largest receiver of imported meat in the United States and supports three USDA inspection houses. The company provides transportation to and from its six warehouses in southern New Jersey via ship, air, rail and truck.
