With fingers crossed that the XX edition of Cibus will take place this year, organizers of the Cibus 2021 International Food Exhibition have rescheduled the postponed May 4-7 event in Parma, Italy, to August 31-September 3.

A press release issued on February 2 stated: “Following the monitoring of the evolution of the pandemic (SARS-CoV-2, also known as novel coronavirus) on an international scale and the involvement of all stakeholders, Italian and international buyers and agrifood companies, Fiere di Parma in agreement with Federalimentare (the Italian Food & Drink Industry Federation) is confirming the dates of Cibus 2021…The evaluation of the vaccine campaign and air travel bubbles for overseas professionals have been taken into account for the final decision.”

The XX running of Cibus is being promoted as “the restart of the Italian food industry,” as it will be the first showcase for the domestic food and beverage sector since the deadly Covid-19 health crisis hit the nation and virtually the entire world. The show will feature frozen products in addition to cured meats, seafood, poultry, cheese, pasta, tomato-based items, oils, baked goods, beverages and much more.

Approximately 3,000 Italian companies are expected to attend Cibus 2021, along with many food producers from other countries. Supplementing the exhibition will be a program of conferences.
