Pei Wei Asian Kitchen and celebrity chef partner Jet Tila have teamed up to create a new dish that brings a coastal twist to their popular Firecracker Chicken menu pleaser. Firecracker Shrimp, unveiled at the fast casual restaurant chain on January 24, features large crispy shrimp wok-tossed in sweet and spicy firecracker sauce and topped with scallions.

“With a perfect balance of heat and crunch, Firecracker Shrimp reflects our dedication to crafting exceptional Asian-inspired cuisine that ignites the senses and leaves a lasting impression on guests,” said Alfredo Pinon, executive chef at Pei Wei Asian Kitchen.

Meanwhile, the Irving, Texas-headquartered operation, which has approximately 200 units throughout the USA, has announced the return of a fan-favorite seafood dish. Its Salmon Poke Bowl puts a Jet Tila spin on the Ahi Poke Bowl previously offered. The recipe features a combination of honey-ginger marinated salmon poke, scallions, cucumbers, pickled ginger, crispy onions and cilantro, served over mixed greens and sushi rice, and topped with signature Yum Yum sauce.

The menu continues to expand on the poultry front as well. Last November Pei Wei’s Honey Sriracha Wings were joined by three additional flavor creations. Sticky Wings boast a caramelized sauce of white wine, garlic and soy, while Spicy Korean BBQ gochujang sauce stars in the Spicy Korean BBQ Wings offering. For those seeking a mix of sweet and spicy, there’s Mango Habanero Wings, accented with honey garlic sauce, spicy habanero, and a mango drizzle.

“These wok-fired wing flavors are a culinary journey that combines tradition with innovation to bring you an experience that expands the boundaries of Asian cuisine,” said Pinon. “The clever collaboration of classic wings finished in a wok where sauce is given time to caramelize and wings are slightly charred make for a bold new way to enjoy wings that stands out among the crowd.”
