Vorhees, New Jersey-headquartered United States Cold Storage has announced that it will open a new facility at the Ninigret North Industrial Park in Syracuse, Utah, this November. Situated on a 35-acre parcel about 34 miles north of Salt Lake City, it features 5.2 million cubic feet of refrigerated storage space hosting 22,850 pallet positions, in addition to a million cubic feet of food-grade dry storage area with 4,084 pallet positions. The flexible operation will accommodate products in four distinct freezers, refrigerated and dry storage areas.
Union Pacific Railroad provides the Salt Lake area with refrigerated and dry rail connections. With 18 refrigerated dock doors, six dry dock doors, and cross-dock transportation services, USCS is well equipped to manage any program with industry-leading efficiency.
The facility is located 35 miles from the local intermodal yard. Operations include a state-of-the-art C0² refrigeration system as well as future capacity for low-temperature blast freezing.
