Valerie Kaminski has joined NewCold Advanced Cold Logistics as managing director of its automated frozen storage and logistics operation in North America. She has a long track record in supply chain management, having previously worked with Starbucks and HP.
The Breda, Netherlands-headquartered refrigerated warehousing company is expanding in the United States, where its network offers nearly 200,000 pallet positions at two new facilities. One is in Tacoma, Washington, and the other will open soon in Burley, Idaho. Among leading frozen food manufacturers on its client list are McCain USA and Trident Seafoods.
“I am proud to serve this industry with an integrated warehouse solution that offers a compelling cost model that reduces energy, labor and space through a team of dedicated professionals committed to meeting and exceeding customer service expectations,” said Kaminski, who has an industrial engineering background and holds degrees from Penn State and the University of Michigan.
NewCold offers large scale multi-temperature warehouse capacity and supply chain expertise to retail operators as well as food producers. It plans, designs and builds warehouses to customer specifications using proprietary technologies including CORAX, its own cloud-based warehouse management system.
In addition to facilities in the USA and Netherlands, the company operates automated cold storage and refrigerated transport services in France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Poland and Australia. Total capacity amounts to 4,799,837 square meters of refrigerated space, according to statistics compiled by the Global Cold Chain Alliance.
