Frozen ready meals and Japanese-style gyoza dumplings will be in high profile among a wide menu of products at the Oishi Group stand during the May 29-June 2 THAIFEX-World of Food Asia exposition in Bangkok, as the Thai company looks to further increase sales beyond its home base. The focus is especially on strengthening export markets already established in Asia and Europe.
“We are well prepared with frozen ready meal products and began shipping Oishi Gyoza to Myanmar and Cambodia in 2016,” said Kodchacorn Attarangsan, vice president of food product business development. “Recently, we expanded our gyoza market into France, Germany, Iceland, England and Holland with great success.”
The company’s research and development department has conducted detailed studies of consumer behavior and retail channels abroad to ensure that quality of production and delivery meet customer demand in targeted countries. Its Oishi Trendy frozen ready meals assortment includes Spicy Pork with Rice, Stir-fried Ramen with Chili Chicken and Sweet Basil, and Grilled Chicken in Teriyaki Sauce with Rice.
Meanwhile, an investment in new equipment has been made for an additional production line to produce a new line of BRC, GMP and HACCP-certified frozen grilled gyoza for overseas clients.
Founded in 1999, the Oishi Group is a subsidiary of Thai Beverage Public Company Limited that is engaged in a number of F&B sectors. It operates Japanese cuisine eateries in Thailand that feature specialty dishes including Shabu Shabu hot pot, Sushi, Yakiniku grilled meat, and Ramen noodles.
The company distributes frozen, chilled and ambient products to supermarkets and convenience stores as well as to foodservice outlets. In addition to ready meals and gyoza, its portfolio ranges from sandwiches and crab sticks to ramen, salmon, saba, soups and baked goods.
Holding forth at Stand EE27 in Challenger Hall 5 of the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, the Oishi Group will be among more than 2,000 exhibitors at THAIFEX, which expects to attract more than 60,000 visitors over its five-day duration. Frozen food products of all kinds will be showcased, including fish, seafood, vegetables, fruits, ice cream and desserts. This is the 15th running of the event, which is jointly organized by Koelnmesse Pte Ltd, Thailand’s Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), and the Thai Chamber of Commerce (TCC).
