SnoTemp Cold Storage is breaking ground this month to add 20,000 pallet positions to its refrigerated warehouse in Albany, Oregon, USA. The added capacity is expected to be on line by May of 2016.
The third-generation family owned company, which has expanded five times since 1974, currently operates 9.3 million cubic feet of freezer space in Albany. Another 3.8 million cubes are available at a second facility in Eugene, Oregon.
SnoTemp offers blast freezing services to vegetable and fruit packers as well as farm cooperatives in the fertile southern Willamette Valley area. Its customer base also includes ice cream and dessert manufacturers as well as local craft breweries.
The Albany facility, situated just off Highway 99, is less than 10 miles from Interstate 5. It features 32 enclosed truck bays and a private rail siding that can accommodate 10 cars at a time.
