Paris Baguette, the multinational chain of bakery-cafés owned by the Seoul, South Korea-headquartered SPC Group, officially launched its newest regional manufacturing hub in Johor, Malaysia, on February 25. The inauguration was attended by Onn Hafiz Ghazi, chief minister of Johor, and officiated by Hur Young In, chairman of SPC (pictured above).
The new facility represents a strategic move in the company’s global expansion, ensuring a seamless, efficient supply chain that supports the brand’s growing presence across Southeast Asia, the Middle East and beyond. As demand for premium bakery products continues to rise around the world, the Johor hub will play a pivotal role in boosting production capabilities and streamlining international distribution.
“Food is more than just what we eat. Through food, we connect with people, honor our heritage, and create meaningful experiences that bring communities together,” said Chairman Hur Young In. “With the Johor Production Center as a strategic hub, we aim to bring wholesome and delightful flavors to the two billion consumers in the halal market.
SPC reportedly invested RM130 million (US$29.5 million) ti build the 12,900 -square-meter facility, which will be capable of producing up to 11 tons (11,000 kilograms) of dough per day . The hub is equipped with seven advanced production lines, enabling an output of up to 100 million bakery products per year, ensuring a steady and scalable supply of baked goods to satisfy customer demand.
A defining feature of the facility is its halal certification, meeting some of the most stringent food safety and quality standards worldwide. By achieving this globally recognized certification, Paris Baguette ensures that its products meet the highest levels of quality, safety and cleanliness, further strengthening consumer trust across international markets.
Founded in 1988 and today operating around 4,000 outlets, Paris Baguette is one of the fastest-growing bakery brands in the global market. In addition to Korea, it serves customers across the United States, Canada, France, the United Kingdom, China and countries in Southeast Asia. In ensuring that the quality of its baguettes and other breads is consistent, dough is supplied frozen to franchise outlets, where its is thawed and baked to create final products on site.
