SeaPak Shrimp & Seafood Co. chefs and Budweiser brewmasters have teamed up to produce a “better batch of pub-style beer-battered seafood” for consumers in the United States. Shrimp, cod and crab poppers are the first three items in the new frozen line, which is being marketed under both SeaPak and Budweiser brand names.
“We, along with Budweiser, take great pride in our commitment to creating memorable experiences for food and beverage lovers alike,” said Kristen Beadon, director of marketing at St. Simons Island, Georgia-based SeaPak. “The famous Budweiser lager beer taste is a natural fit with our tradition of high quality, great tasting seafood.”
Shrimp featured in the oven-crunchy Beer Battered Shrimp offering are Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certified under the world’s leading independent aquaculture certification program, while the cod product is produced with wild-caught fish certified by the Marine Stewardship Council as being sourced from a well-managed and sustainable wild fishery.
Beer Battered Crab Poppers ingredients boast wild-caught blue swimming crab, cheese and jalapeño peppers. The crab meat is certified for sustainability by the National Fisheries Institute’s Crab Council, whose standards require companies to comprehensively address environmental and social responsibility, animal welfare, food safety and traceability throughout their operations.
Each product is now available at retail stores throughout the United States, including Walmart and Kroger. The nine-ounce SeaPak Budweiser Beer Battered Shrimp, 12.5-ounce Beer Battered Cod and 11-ounce Beer Battered Crab Poppers, all of which come with three-ounce sachets of citrus tartar sauce, have an $8.25 suggested retail price. The larger 16-ounce (453 grams) party size shrimp pack sells for $10.30.

About Budweiser
The flagship beers of St. Louis, Missouri-headquartered Anheuser-Busch InBev, Bud Light and Budweiser are respectively the No. 1 and No. 3 selling lagers in the United States. Budweiser was introduced to American consumers in 1876 when company founder Adolphus Busch set out to create the first truly national beer brand in the market. Brewed to transcend regional tastes, each batch stays true to the same recipe used by five generations of Busch family brewmasters. Budweiser is a medium-bodied, flavorful, crisp alcoholic beverage with blended layers of premium American and European hop aromas. It is made using time-honored techniques, including “kraeusening” for natural carbonation and Beechwood aging.
