The Pinkberry frozen desserts restaurant chain franchise is partnering with Illumination’s Despicable Me 4 to introduce a frozen yogurt flavor this summer, inspired by the film, which is coming to theaters in the United States on July 3. The sweet treat, which will be available through August, is topped with bananas, blueberries and Nilla wafers.
“We are honored Illumination has chosen Pinkberry as an official partner for the film’s release,” said Melissa Hubbell, vice president of marketing for Scottsdale, Arizona-based Kahala Brands, parent company of Pinkberry. “Just like the movie, our refreshing frozen Banana Pudding swirl can be enjoyed by Minion fans of all ages and is the perfect summertime cool down treat.”
Illumination, founded by Chris Meledandri in 2007, is one of the entertainment industry’s leading producers of event-animated films, including Despicable Me, the most successful animated franchise in cinematic history, as well as The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch and The Secret Life of Pets and Sing films.
