Frozen and refrigerated food products fared well in second annual Aldi Fan Favorites survey results posted by the Batavia, Illinois, USA-headquartered discount retail chain on September 15. Rising to the top of the list yet again as the overall winner was Mama Cozzi’s Take & Bake Deli Pizza, which also repeated as the Fan Favorite in the Easy Meal category, receiving more than 55,000 votes.
Nine of the 20 winners, including frozen Earth Grown Veggie Burgers in the Vegetarian/Vegan category, and frozen Fremont Fish Market Medium EZ Peel Raw Shrimp in the seafood category, successfully defended their 2019 titles.
“The incredible response to our second Fan Favorites survey reinforces how much our customers love Aldi-exclusive items,” said Joan Kavanaugh, vice president of national buying. “We are known for commitment to high quality groceries at unbeatable prices, but it’s our loyal fans who truly define us. This survey creates another opportunity to hear directly what our consumers want and need most.”
Operating more than 2,000 stores across 36 states, Aldi is on track to become the third-largest grocery retailer in the USA by store count within the next two years. The company is a unit of Mülheim, Germany-based Aldi Süd.
