Porter Logistics Expands Services to Include Cold Storage Warehousing

Porter Logistics, an Atlanta, Georgia, USA-headquartered logistics and 3PL warehousing company founded in 2014, has announced its expansion into cold chain logistics, offering specialized cold storage services for manufacturers and distributors.

“Expanding into the cold chain is the next logical step in Porter’s mission to be the number one provider of logistics solutions to the food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries. Our existing clients have been asking for this capability and we will be able to provide multiple modes of service from our integrated Atlanta campus,” said CEO Robert Crump.

As part of this expansion, Porter Logistics is growing on its home turf by adding 145,000 square feet of cold storage space at 605 Selig Drive, where it already operates a 270,000-square-foot 3PL warehouse. This brings the company’s total capacity to 750,000 square feet off of Atlanta’s Fulton Industrial corridor.

“With our expansion into the cold chain, Porter Logistics has become a one-stop shop for its existing and future clients, ” said  President John Foshee. “A full range of temperatures is offered at our Atlanta campus: ambient, heated, climate controlled, frozen and refrigerated — all in close proximity to one another. Add in our rail-served capabilities along with GMP Food Grade & HAZMAT certifications and we feel very confident in our ability to service the most complex 3PL requirements.”

Porter Logistics’ new cold storage facilities are designed to accommodate a wide range of temperatures, including freezer storage as low as -20°F as well refrigerated space maintained between 35°F and 40°F.

The company’s full range of 3PL services including: complex, multi-line order fulfillment; fast moving, high volume bulk distribution; case and each picking; retail consolidation; inventory management; transloading and cross docking; and container stripping.
