Mokena, Illinois, USA-headquartered Provisur Technologies, Inc. has entered into an agreement with Aalborg, Denmark-based Scanico A/S in which Scanico has become Provisur’s global partner in commercial freezing technology. The deal allows Provisur to offer a broader range of freezing technologies, including custom-made spiral and impingement freezing systems. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Scanico has more than 25 years of freezing experience in a variety of applications. Founded in 1972, the family-owned and -operated business is run today by the founder’s son, Lars Colding. In addition to spiral and impingement freezers, it supplies belt contact, and straight belt freezers as well as accessories including CIP cleaning systems, belt-washing units, glazing units, in/out-feed conveyors, product loading systems, patty loaders, sequential defrosters, and welded stainless steel houses and floors.
Formerly the freezer division of Scanima A/S, Scanico was established as a separate company in 2009. Its systems have been installed at factories in 49 countries.
Provisur Technologies’ wide assortment of equipment runs the gamut from completely integrated systems to grinding, mixing, separating, forming, coating, cooking, freezing, slicing and autoloading machinery for processing beef, poultry, pork, fish, and other food products. Among its well-established brands are AM2C, Beehive, Cashin, Formax, Multitec, TST and Weiler.
At last count, Provisur’s systems were operating at more than 2,000 food processing facilities in over 75 countries. Under the direction of CEO and President Mel Cohen and Vice Presidents Brian Perkins (Global Product Management) and Bert Jan Hardenbol (EMEA Business Unit), the company aims to continue boosting sales around the world.
Hardenbol, who came on board last October, previously served as managing director and president of the Townsend Further Processing division of Reykjavik, Iceland-headquartered Marel hf. He now has direct responsibility for Provisur’s operations in the Netherlands, France, the UK and Germany, and is spearheading activities elsewhere in Europe as well as in the Middle East and Africa.
Perkins, a former general manager at John Beach Technologies Corp. in California, joined Provisur in February of 2013.
