Following the successful launch of Milk Chocolate and Dark Chocolate varieties, Pukpip has added White Chocolate Dipped Frozen Bananas to its range in the United Kingdom. Featuring creamy white chocolate with hints of vanilla and serving up just 152 to 161 calories and plenty fiber and potassium per stick, the new offering is now being distributed to wholesale buyers by CLF and the Suma food cooperative.

The latest retailer in Britain to stock the product is Planet Organic, having joined Vegan Kind and Whole Foods Market, where all three chocolate options are available.

“Consumer research indicates a demand for frozen snacks that combine a balance of whole fruit with a bit of indulgence, but now that the products are in brick and mortar stores the response has been incredible. Our stockists say that they are flying out of the freezers and consumer feedback has been overwhelmingly positive,” stated Pukpip Marketing Director Zara Godfrey. “We are delighted to be able to add the White Chocolate Dipped Frozen Bananas to the range, which is set to have wide appeal for kids and grown-ups alike.”

Tapping into the trend of permissible yet indulgent snacking, Pukpip’s frozen bananas provide the balance of wholesome goodness with indulgent frozen snacking and are challenging the ice cream category with whole, real fruit, according to Godfrey.

She added: “The wide appeal of a real fruit treat that is low in calories, gluten free, vegan (Dark Chocolate only), and nothing artificial is enabling Pukpip to come to the forefront in the ice cream category and new food innovations.”

Currently selling for £3.99 per three-pack, the next step for Pukpip will be the launch of singles this summer, which will be distributed to retailers and the hospitality sector for both on-the-go snacking and as a dessert option for restaurants and cafes. They will be ”ideally placed among handheld ice creams and promoted as nature’s alternative to ice cream, a permissible on-the-go snack,” said Godfrey.
