While the annual Lobsterfest promotion at Red Lobster has come and gone, there’s another party going on now with a smaller shellfish front and center. Indeed, suppliers of frozen shrimp to North America’s leading seafood restaurant chain are celebrating increased volume sales as diners take advantage of attractively priced menu offerings. For $15.99, during a limited time period, customers may order from a menu featuring the widest variety of premium shrimp options available all year during the Create Your Own Shrimp Trios promotion.
And there’s plenty to choose from, including newly launched Crab-Topped Shrimp Skewer, Parmesan Truffle Shrimp Scampi, and Spring Roll-Crusted Shrimp. Also on the menu are established guest favorites such as Teriyaki Grilled Shrimp.
The Create Your Own Shrimp Trios event allows clientele to customize meals by choosing one item from each of three different categories, including Pasta Specialties, Classic Favorites, and Twists on Classics.
This year’s “craveable lineup” boasts nine options:
- Pasta Specialties: Shrimp & Lobster Pasta, Shrimp Linguini Alfredo, Cajun Chicken Linguini Alfredo
- Classic Favorites: Crab-Topped Shrimp Skewer, Garlic Shrimp Scampi, Popcorn Shrimp
- Twists on Classics: Parmesan Truffle Shrimp Scampi, NEW! Spring Roll-Crusted Shrimp, Teriyaki Grilled Shrimp
“We’re excited to offer guests the opportunity to discover unique and indulgent premium shrimp preparations that they can’t find anywhere else. From new flavors and preparations to classic favorites, this event has something for every shrimp lover, ” said Chef Dustin Hilinski, executive chef and director of culinary at Orlando, Florida-headquartered Red Lobster.
The privately owned company, which was acquired from Darden Restaurants four years ago by San Francisco-based Golden Gate Capital, ranks as the world’s largest seafood restaurant operator. Bangkok-headquartered Thai Union, a major supplier of frozen and canned seafood products, has a 25% stake in the company since October of 2016.
Employing more than 55,000 people at over 700 units across the United States and Canada, Red Lobster has a growing international footprint that includes franchises in Japan, Mexico, Brazil, Ecuador, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Malaysia.
