Boulder, Colorado-based Rudi’s Bakery, known for its selection of organic and gluten-free breads, is introducing clean-label Texas Toast, which will be offered in several varieties: Garlic, Three Cheese with Garlic, Gluten Free Garlic and Gluten Free Three Cheese with Garlic.
This marks the brand’s first foray into the frozen food aisle and is exclusively available at Whole Foods Market retail outlets in the United States. The rollout has started with Gluten Free Garlic priced at $7.99, and will be followed by the other varieties later this year.
Rudi’s latest innovation echoes its mission to provide better-for-you options of bread and baked goods for consumers who are mindful about clean label products. The brand’s Texas Toast is made just like one would at home, with real butter (not soy or palm oil), garlic and a hint of parsley on Rudi’s signature sourdough bread with slices that are twice as thick as a typical slice.
Founded in 1976, the artisanal brand will continue to bolster its frozen food section offerings early next year with the introduction of nitrate-free Breakfast Sandwiches made with cage-free eggs. It will also introduce Sandos, a portable peanut butter and jelly sandwich made with 50% less sugar.
Rudi’s Texas Toast is now exclusively available to purchase at Whole Foods Market locations in-store and online with an MSRP of $7.99 for Texas Toast with Garlic and $8.99 for Texas Toast with Three Cheese and Garlic.
