Ryan Clark, president and chief executive officer of The Town Dock, has been appointed chairman of the National Fisheries Institute (NFI). He will serve a one-year term.

As chairman, Clark will play a critical role in guiding the Reston, Virginia-headquartered trade association’s direction and advancing the interests of the United States seafood industry. He will work closely with NFI President and CEO Lisa Wallenda Picard and the Institute’s membership on industry priorities, advocacy and strategic planning.

“I am honored to become chairman of the National Fisheries Institute,” said Clark. “The US seafood industry plays a vital role in our economy and our food supply.”

“As head of a family-owned seafood company based in Narragansett, Rhode Island, Ryan leads by example and shares his superb understanding of this often complicated industry,” said Wallenda Picard. “We are fortunate to have a chairman who’s not daunted by regulatory, trade, nutrition, and media issues and who offers a steady hand in the face of these challenges, even when they happen all at once.”

In business for 45 years, The Town Dock is a vertically integrated company, unloading vessels at its docks as well as partnering with global suppliers to offer customers high quality, ethically sourced squid, finfish, shellfish and other fishery products.
