Mike McEvoy of Sargento Foods was elected chairman of the American Frozen Food Institute during the 2019 AFFI Frozen Food Convention (AFFI-CON) in San Diego, California, which ran from February 23-26. Other officers and directors tapped were Meghan Swan of J.R. Simplot Co. as chairwoman elect; and Shawn Campbell of NORPAC as immediate past chairman.
McEvoy is the executive vice president of operations for Sargento Foods, a family-owned business based in Wisconsin with 2,200 employees and net sales of $1.4 billion. The company manufactures and markets shredded, sliced and snack natural cheese products, as well as frozen appetizers, ingredients and sauces.
Nine board members elected are: Tracey Beck of Conagra Brands; Doug Carlson of Tommy’s Superfoods; Kurt Deibel of Kraft Heinz; Angelo Fallucca of Palermo Villa; Jordan Greenberg of B&G Foods; Julia Sabin of The J.M. Smucker Company; Tony Shurman of Wyman’s; Meghan Swan of J.R. Simplot Co; and Glen Tellock of Lakeside Foods.

The Arlington, Virginia-headquartered American Frozen Food Institute is a national trade association that represents the interests of all segments of the frozen food and beverage industry in the United States. It works to advance food safety and advocates before legislative and regulatory entities on behalf of the organization’s membership.
