New business with Fortune Fish & Gourmet and Raley’s has extended the reach of Grimsby, England-based Saucy Fish Co. into the Midwest and West Coast markets of the United States. The company has been present on East Coast for some time already, having secured listings at Whole Foods Market, Publix and Hannaford.
Bensenville, Illinois-headquartered Fortune Fish & Gourmet, one of the largest seafood distributors in US, now carries Saucy’s full range of frozen fillet and sauce combinations, including Atlantic Salmon with Chili, Lime and Ginger Sauce, Smoked Haddock with Aged Cheddar and Chive Sauce, Herb Crusted Salmon with Lemon Butter Sauce and the newest addition to the range, Tilapia with Korean BBQ Sauce.
Meanwhile, Chicago-area retailer Mariano’s has stocked three frozen fish and sauce products supplied by Saucy Fish Co., which is an Icelandic Seachill unit owned by the Enterprise Investment Fund.
Expansion does not stop in Chicagoland, as the frozen range is now available at outlets of the West Sacramento, California-headquartered Raley’s Supermarkets chain. It sells three of Saucy’s fish and sauce combinations in over 110 stores in Northern California and Nevada.
“This is a very exciting time. Our new listings with Raley’s, Mariano’s and Fortune Fish & Gourmet enable us to take the full frozen range across the United States, inspiring new markets to enjoy restaurant-quality frozen fish and sauce at home,” said Paul Macis, the company’s international business development manager.
“It’s our mission to make frozen cooler by offering convenient, inspirational flavor combinations to a category that is often overlooked,” he continued. “The frozen range has received so much praise from UK and Canadian consumers, so it is wonderful to see our products being so well received across the US.”
