Kedah, Malaysia-based Saudee Group Berhad is collaborating with Hong Kong-headquartered Top Standard Corp. to develop an entirely new line of halal frozen meats and ready-to-eat meals for distribution to consumers in the greater China market including Hong Kong and  Macau.

“The idea for this is to capture not only the halal food markets in greater China, but to also cater for the standard palate and culture of the North Asian style,” announced a press release issued by the company. “Packaged food consumption in China is expected to regain growth in 2021, with busier lifestyles in place to improve the economy.”

The Saudee Group was founded in 1985 with the two subsidiaries, Perusahaan Saudee Sdn Bhd and Saudi Cold Storage Sdn Bhd. Employing approximately 500 people today and ranking among the largest manufacturers of value added frozen food in Malaysia, its modern factory in the heart of Kedah’s industrial area in Sungai Petani has capacity to turn out 30 tons of products per day, while its refrigerated warehouse can stock 3,000 metric tons of finished goods. The company specializes in producing burger patties, frankfurters, sausages, chicken nuggets, fried chicken, chicken balls, beef meatballs and other items sold under Saudi Gold and Farm’s Gold labels in retail stores in Malaysia and other countries and territories.
