SeaPak Shrimp & Seafood Co. has introduced two new microwaveable soups under its Selections line at Walmart stores across the USA. Distributed in 498-gram twin-packs, the Shrimp Wonton and Thai Coconut Shrimp Soup options feature on-trend Asian flavors and go from freezer to table in just six minutes.
Development of the innovative products was sparked, in part, by the desire to offer more variety to the current spread of heat-and-eat items available in the frozen seafood departments of retail outlets.
“We understand that shoppers are looking for simple solutions that help them live better,” said Leslie Harris-Thomas, marketing manager at St. Simons Island, Georgia-based SeaPak. “These new soups are designed to take the stress out of mealtime and give busy shoppers peace of mind knowing they’re enjoying a high quality, healthy meal even when time isn’t on their side.”
The clean label products contain no artificial preservatives, colors or flavors – unlike many of their non-frozen counterparts. They’re also gluten-free and made with responsibly sourced shrimp certified by the Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) program.
“Whether you’re a confident cook who enjoys trying trendy flavors at home, or someone who prefers quick-and-easy meals with minimal prep, our new soups deliver the mealtime experience you’re craving,” said Harris-Thomas.
“We are always looking to partner with like-minded retailers to give consumers more reasons to shop the frozen aisle. Our goal is to continue creating new, unique products that expand the category and offer busy moms and dads more options,” she added.
