Sonic Tots, the crispy potato side dish long on menus at Sonic Drive-In fast food restaurants in the United States, is now for sale in the frozen food section of more than 4,000 Walmart SuperCenters nationwide. Priced at $4.98, the lightly salted contents of the 28-ounce (793-gram) packages are ready to eat after 20-25 minutes of oven preparation or 10 minutes in an air fryer.
“We are delighted to be able to meet our fans wherever they are, and provide another way to enjoy our beloved Tots,” said Lori Abou Habib, Sonic’s chief marketing officer. “By expanding into the frozen food aisle, we’re able to offer customers a versatile meal time option that can be enjoyed as a side dish or as the star of a delicious meal – all with the added convenience of facilitating preparation at home.”
Lamb Weston is manufacturing the product and plans to introduce Sonic Fries at select retail stores later this year. The partnership was brokered by the brand’s licensing agency, Focus Brands.
“Sonic is an iconic American brand, and their Tots and Fries are a big part of their iconic experience. We are delighted to be working with them to bring their products to home users, especially those who don’t have a Sonic outlet in their market,” said Kim Cupelli, senior vice president of marketing and Innovation at Lamb Weston. “The packaging uses the eye-catching and unique Sonic brand elements and will really stand out on the grocery shelves.”
