Stavis Seafoods, a Boston, Massachusetts-headquartered importer and first receiver of seafood, will enter into a primary wholesale distribution partnership with R.W. Zant Co., a major broadline food redistribution specialist in the USA, beginning August 1. The arrangement will include the warehousing of Stavis products for delivery to Zant’s customers.
Los Angeles, California-based R.W. Zant specializes in the wholesale distribution of a wide line of frozen and non-frozen products ranging from beef, pork, chicken, turkey, fish and seafood to dairy, deli and grocery items to foodservice and retail distributors throughout the Western United States. In addition to enhancing Stavis’ supply chain capabilities on the West Coast, the agreement will significantly expand Zant’s seafood offerings.

Some of the initial products that will be available through this partnership include items from Stavis Seafoods’ Bos’n, Foods From the Sea, Prince Edward, Ocean Delight and Boston Pride branded portfolio. There will also be access to exclusive Stavis partnership offerings, among them Gaston brand Coldwater South African Lobster.
Stavis Seafoods is a family business that has been a Boston Waterfront landmark since 1929. It carries an inventory of more than 1,300 seafood items and distributes more than 37,000,000 pounds of frozen and fresh seafood annually seafood via air, truck and ship worldwide. Products are imported from more than 50 countries, as well as sourced domestically.
