Suji’s Korean Cuisine, a line of “true-to-the-culture” prepared meals, entrées and sauces, has officially debuted at Texas-area Costco stores, as well as with a national frozen pizza powerhouse, and at the University of Nebraska’s dining system, Suji Park, the company’s founder, announced on November 5. In addition, she said that the products will be available at additional retail locations in the United States over the course of the next two months. The geographical reach will extend from states in the Midwest and Southeast, as well as California and Texas.

savory-beef“Suji’s Korean Cuisine products have been well received, and our rollout is moving very quickly,” she said. “We are offering a line of authentic, exceptionally high quality, made in the USA frozen, refrigerated and shelf-stable products. It’s ‘real food’ from natural ingredients.”

She added that another important feature of Suji’s traditional foods, which include popular Bulgogi, Chapchae and Kalbi dishes, are that they contain no gluten and use MSG-free ingredients and non-GMO soy sauces.

Suji’s Korean Cuisine is the brainchild of Ms. Park, an international entrepreneur whose education at the French Culinary Institute honed her skill in making fine food dishes and reinforced an appreciation of the cuisine of her native Korea. While her US-based business may be new, she boasts an established track record as an international “food ambassador,” having introduced New York-style deli and brunch to Korea and Japan through her popular Seoul and Tokyo restaurants and through retail outlets in Asia.

Based in Omaha, Nebraska, the company has forged professional relationships with several of the state’s food industry giants, including Omaha Steaks, Needham Meats, Packaging Corporation of America and Universal Pasteurization. Suji’s Korean Cuisine was the first “international” company asked to join the new, state-of-the-art Nebraska Innovation Campus, a public-private-academic endeavor meant to connect the talents of experts, companies and the university to create a unique culture of innovation. With plans on the drawing board for Suji’s Korean Grill, a national fast casual Korean restaurant chain to launch in Omaha in early 2016, Suji is poised to become the face of a recognized national brand, introducing authentic Korean food to a wider market across the USA.
