TaiMei to Pack American Lorrain French Fries in China

Linyi, Shandong Province, China-headquartered American Lorain Corporation has contracted with TaiMei Potato Industry Ltd. to co-pack its line of branded frozen french fries. Based in Shangdu, Inner Mongolia, TaiMei is a unit of value added potato products specialist Lamb Weston, a ConAgra Foods company headquartered in the USA.

fries“We are very confident with TaiMei Potato becoming our OEM factory and providing us with high-quality products,” said Si Chen, chairman and chief executive officer of American Lorain. “We will have TaiMei Potato manufacture about 2,000 tons of regular french fries at this time. But we do see more potential opportunities in the future for both companies. This cooperation will not only help us implement domestic strategy, but also create more opportunities to expand Lorain branded products overseas.”

American Lorain Corporation is a major producer of chestnuts, convenience and frozen food products in China. The company operates 13 production lines that turn out over 200 different items, and more than 30 offices serve the domestic market. As for overseas sales, exports go to over 40 countries and regions, including Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Southeast Asia and Europe.

Lorain logoTaiMei Potato Industry Ltd., established in 2010, is a large, fully-integrated potato processing enterprise involved in potato cultivation, acquisition, storage, processing and sales. Acquired by ConAgra Foods for $93 million through its Lamb Weston division in 2014, it primarily manufactures and processes potato products sold under the Lamb Weston label in China.
