The official introduction of Tindle brand faux chicken in United States retail stores was announced on November 14. It followed successful launches earlier this year at Whole Foods Market and Morrisons in the United Kingdom and the Edeka chain in Germany.
In September Singapore-headquartered Tindle Foods debuted plant-based breakfast sausage patties at restaurants in the United States. Last year the company, previously known as Next Gen Foods, began introducing pre-breaded frozen faux chicken patties to foodservice operators in North America. Additionally, product exposure was gained through early retail previews, pop-up events and e-commerce channels.
Giant Eagle, which operates more than 400 stores throughout the US Midwest and East Coast, is now selling Tindle Patties, Tenders and Wings from the frozen aisles of 84 outlets. A number of independent grocers California and Hawaii have also listed Tindle products. Among them are Berkeley Bowl, Besties Vegan Paradise, Harvest Market, Pacific Market, Piazza’s and Mana Foods.
Consumers in Connecticut, New Jersey, and the greater New York City area can conveniently shop for plant-based Tindle offerings via FreshDirect’s online platform. Lower Manhattan residents can also find Tindle Foods imitation chicken at Orchard Grocer, the all-vegan deli and food market.
“We’re thrilled to announce our retail debut with established and like-minded partners all over the country,” said J.J. Kass, senior vice president for business development and managing director at in the United States. “This move allows us to reach new audiences and offer our plant-based chicken products to an even broader customer base.”
A national retail rollout of Tindle Foods growing assortment of products is planned for 2024.
