Fruit Logistica kicked off at Messe Berlin in Germany on February 5 with more than 2,600 exhibitors from 84 countries. The show, which will run for three days, features equipment manufacturers as well as fruit and vegetable suppliers, logistics providers and other industrial vendors.
Among the equipment suppliers exhibiting is cutting technology specialist Urschel Laboratories. The Valparaiso, Indiana, USA-headquartered company is displaying a range of machines at the fair including the DiversaCut Sprint® Dicer, TranSlicer 2510 Cutter, Model CC Slicer, and Comitrol Model 1700.
The DiversaCut Sprint is promoted as ideal for small to mid-size processors producing flat or crinkle slices and dices of strawberries, pineapple, peppers, tomatoes, potatoes and even cooked meats.
Urschel’s belt-fed TranSlicer 2510 Cutter represents the largest footprint of the TranSlicer line of food cutting machinery. Well suited for leafy vegetables, the machine’s popular applications include lettuce, carrots, celery, cucumbers, eggplant, spinach, honeydew, cantaloupe and leek. Several different interchangeable 25″ (635 mm) diameter cutting wheels (slicing, crinkle slicing, shredding and julienne) produce a full range of slices, shreds, and julienne cuts at the highest capacities found in the TranSlicer line.
The Model CC Slicer produces a wide range of slices, strips/shreds, and granulations. Popular applications include potato slicing, cheese shredding, nut granulations and shredding of various fruits and vegetables.
The Comitrol Processor versatility excels at milling, granulating and pureeing. Applications include the reduction of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, fruits, nuts, and soybeans for ingredient uses.
