Rahway, New Jersey-based New Classic Cooking’s Veggies Made Great Garden Lites brand is expanding its profile at Wegmans Food Markets in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern United States with the debut of four more products in the supermarket chain’s freezer section: Broccoli Cheddar Veggie Cakes, Superfood Veggie Cakes, Blueberry Oat Muffins and Double Chocolate Muffins.
Veggies Made Great is a plant-based frozen food specialist that utilizes clean and simple ingredients to formulate vegetable-rich snacks and meals. Its product line is gluten-free as well as devoid of soy, peanuts and tree nuts, with dairy-free options.
The company’s management believes that the most significant way to improve human health is to increase consumption of vegetables, and currently only one in ten Americans eats the daily-recommended quantity of greens. It points out that fad diets come and go, and health advice changes over time, but there is one health message that has never changed: Eat your vegetables.
All nutrient-rich Veggies Made Great Garden Lite products feature vegetables as the first and primary ingredient. Some offerings rely on vegetables to moisten and sweeten recipes, like the zucchini and carrots in muffins. Others rely on vegetables to highlight of value-added products, like spinach, tomatoes, onions and red bell peppers in Spinach Egg White Frittata.
Retailers throughout America have slotted Veggies Made Great’s range onto their shelves. In addition to Gates, New York-headquartered Wegmans, which operates 103 stores in seven states, listings have been secured in outlets ranging from large wholesale clubs to conventional markets and department stores including Costco, Kroger, Target, Shop Rite, Publix, Stop & Shop, Giant, Meijer, HEB, Ralph’s, Fry’s and The Fresh Market.
