From loaf recipe cheese to shells and cheese, Velveeta has been a popular ingredient in many American kitchens since 1928. Now, as more US consumers are eating multiple snacks and smaller meals, Kraft Heinz has extended the brand into the frozen snacks aisle with two new products: Velveeta Cheesy Bites and Velveeta Stuffed Grilled Cheese. Both are made with real milk and cheese.
With up to 80% of Velveeta consumers buying frozen snacks and meals, according to Nielsen data, people who like to make grilled cheese sandwiches with Velveeta now have a convenient frozen option. Indeed, microwaveable Velveeta Stuffed Grilled Cheese is ready to serve in just one minute.
Folks fond of party dips can enjoy the ease of dips-in-a-bite with Velveeta Cheesy Bites. They come in both Original and Salsa con Queso, a flavor based on a tasty Queso dip recipe.
“As an iconic American brand, we believe Velveeta will bring excitement to the frozen aisle,” said Caio Santos, brand manager for frozen snacks at Chicago-based Kraft Heinz. “These are convenient frozen snacks that capture the true Velveeta experience of liquid gold taste and melt. From weekend entertaining to an after school treat, our bites and grilled cheese are cravable.”
Stuffed Grilled Cheese comes in boxes of two or six sandwiches, while the two flavors of Cheesy Bites area packed in 6 oz. and 18 oz. boxes. The suggested retail price for the larger offering is $4.99.
